Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage features live text for Sunday's games via various channels, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, radio commentary can be heard through select stations for a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six of the football calendar and following last week's discussion about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both surrendered their unbeaten records.

Striking in those games was the amount of infractions both conceded. The Eagles committed them at crucial times so they essentially defeated themselves having led by two touchdowns entering the fourth period versus the Denver Broncos, who play in London this weekend.

However it was positive to see that Denver quarterback Bo Nix managed to have the shortfall before direct three scoring drives on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the game 21-17.

The Broncos have the defensive player of the year in cornerback their star corner. They are first in goal-line defense, while Philadelphia are number one in red zone offence, yet Denver won that contest.

They executed effective strategies in terms of disguised blitzes. They did not always sending more than four defenders but they could plug two LBs in the interior before drop them out and send a slot defender from the outside.

At the start of the season, we said during a show how the Broncos might emerge as this season's dark horses. They ended last season strongly and excelled of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's underdog story?

Recently acquired tight end Evan Engram has excelled significantly while recent running back their rusher is a guy the team trusts. He's currently fifth in the NFL for rushing yards (over 400) as well as tied-fourth in rushing scores (4).

I love that head coach the Broncos' leader has "RUN IT!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates that Denver represent a squad aiming to prioritize the run, because you can achieve much based on that approach. It reduces down the pass rush and maintains in positive situations.

It's also benefited QB the young passer, who came the NFL as a first-round selection in the prior draft, throwing 29 TDs – second only to a star QB in rookie records (31 in 2020).

Other elite QBs have powerful arms to pass anywhere, but they lack the mobility as Nix. He boasts exceptional passing ability, which is different, plus he is highly agile.

His strengths are his mobility, being able to pass while moving, and finding different arm angles to make throws as he moves outside protection, on rollouts. He can throw that layered pass across the middle and past defenders.

As a rookie QB, aged 25, he's got great poise under pressure and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He tries to evade being tackled whenever possible and can pass in tight spots. He has a high football IQ and is quick to decide.

If you consistently run the ball it consumes the clock and makes the opponent to stay in play for longer, and if you have a mobile QB the defence has to defend the field vertically and horizontally. It can be exhausting.

Nix has pushed back at Payton during games sometimes and it seems the coach appreciates that fire, that he's such a competitor. In my view it's exciting for him to coach a young quarterback who's kind of like play-dough. The coach can really develop him how he wants to shape him. I think it's a special experience for the coach.

Payton owns a Super Bowl and has passed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He's seen it all. In my opinion the achievements Denver are experiencing offensively is largely due to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the combination with the QB aids shape him what he is.

There's no better a more qualified person in your ear, to assist you during difficult moments and boost self-belief.

I believe in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet are they good enough to go against a top squad at its best? Since that was not championship-level play from Philadelphia in their last game.

Right now, it's unlikely Denver are incredible. They're working above average, which is a good place to be in their division. The key to do is maintain this trajectory.

They're really good at embracing their strength, that is running the ball, and that's exactly what they must do versus the New York Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, essentially.

The Jets have surrendered 140 rushing yards each contest (among the worst), five ground scores so far (in the bottom ten), and they are the only team yet to win any game.

Since the league began tracking takeaways decades ago, this team are also the inaugural squad to be without any turnovers through five games, this is kind of shocking when you think that the head coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City are off to a poor start following a recent loss by the Jaguars.

After this Sunday's game, Denver face a smooth-ish schedule up to their break (in week twelve) - the Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Chiefs.

In the AFC West, Kansas City are 2-3 and the Broncos are even with the Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could challenge for the top of the division.

This hinges upon which form of the Chiefs they meet because the Broncos {beat|def
